Does Zeno Hallucinate? What Should I Do?

Learn how to recognise, verify and report an inaccurate or unsupported answer.

Written by Eloy Wijlhuizen

Like other generative AI systems, Zeno can produce information that is incorrect, unsupported, or linked to the wrong source. Zeno supports responsible AI use by helping you inspect an answer, verify the underlying sources, and decide what you can rely on.

How Zeno helps you stay in control

Use Legal Research for questions that depend on legislation, case law, or other legal sources. Select the jurisdiction and sources relevant to your question, then open the citations in the answer to review the supporting passages.

These controls keep the final judgement with you. A real source does not necessarily support the claim beside it, so compare the answer with the original source before relying on it.

What to do when an answer seems incorrect

  1. Open each cited source and compare it with Zeno's answer.

  2. Check the court or issuing authority, the date, and the case number, ECLI, publication number, or other identifier.

  3. Confirm that the cited passage supports the claim in the answer.

  4. If you cannot verify the source or supporting passage, treat the claim as unverified and do not rely on it.

  5. Start a new chat so the incorrect answer is not reused as context.

  6. Ask a focused question that identifies the legal issue and the relevant date or period.

Report the example

If the problem continues, contact Support through the Zeno Messenger. Include the exported chat or a screenshot, the jurisdiction and sources selected in Legal Research, and a short explanation of what you expected.

Share only the information needed to investigate the issue.
