Upload Files and Folders

Written by Eloy Wijlhuizen

Upload individual files, several files at once, or a folder through Files in your Project.

Check the Project name before uploading. Zeno adds files to that Project; they do not appear automatically in your other Projects. Your permissions and organisation settings determine whether you can upload. Read-only access lets you open and download existing files, but does not let you upload or change them.

Check the supported file types and upload limits before uploading a large or unfamiliar file.

Upload Files or a Folder

  1. Open the Project where the files belong.

  2. Select Files in the Project navigation.

  3. Select New in the Files header, then select Upload files.

  4. Select one or more files from your computer.

The upload starts after you select the files. To upload a folder, select New, select Upload folder, then choose the folder from your computer. Zeno uploads the files and keeps the folder hierarchy.

You can also drag files or a folder onto the Files page. Open the destination folder first: Zeno adds the items to the folder you have open. Use clear file and folder names so you and your colleagues can find them later.

Wait for Files to Become Ready

Files may show Uploading, Processing, or Analysing while Zeno works on a file. Wait for Ready before using it in a task.

Read the reason shown for any item that is skipped, fails, or needs attention. Check which files arrived before retrying so you do not upload another copy of a file Zeno has received.

Once a file is ready, follow How to Mention Project Files in a Chat to select it for your request.

If You Chose the Wrong File

You cannot cancel an upload from the upload status panel. Closing the panel hides the progress display; Zeno continues the upload and processing.

Wait for the file to appear in Files in the original Project. Check its name and status, then follow the deletion steps in Organise and Manage Files if you no longer need it. Check with colleagues who may use the file before confirming deletion.

Switch Projects During an Upload

You can switch Projects within Zeno while an upload continues. Zeno keeps the files in the Project and folder where you started the upload.

Keep the Zeno tab open and your connection active until the transfer finishes. Closing the tab, refreshing the page, or signing out can interrupt a transfer.

Return to the original Project and destination folder to check the result. Processing may continue after transfer. After an interruption, read each item's status and retry the missing or failed items.

If Upload Is Unavailable or Fails

If New is missing, ask the person who manages access to the Project. For repeated failures, follow upload troubleshooting. If you need Support, include the action, file type, and error message. Leave document contents out of the initial report.
