How to Use Files in Zeno Work

Written by Eloy Wijlhuizen

Files is where Zeno keeps the material it can use in the current Project. Upload the files that belong to the client, matter, project, or topic you are working on.

Before you upload anything, make sure that you are in the correct Project. A file stays in the Project where you upload it. It does not appear automatically in your other Projects.

What Belongs in Files?

Add files that you want Zeno to find, read, compare, or use while you work. You can upload one file, several files, or a folder that contains related files.

Use clear file and folder names so that you and your colleagues can find the right material later. If Zeno cannot read or process an item, the upload status shows a reason.

How to Upload Files

  1. Open the Project where the files belong.

  2. Select Files in the Project navigation.

  3. Select New New button with a plus icon. in the Files header.

  4. Select Upload files.

  5. Select one or more files from your computer.

The upload starts after you select the files.

How to Upload a Folder

  1. Open Files in the correct Project.

  2. Select New in the Files header.

  3. Select Upload folder.

  4. Select the folder from your computer.

Zeno uploads the files and keeps the folder hierarchy.

How to Drag and Drop Files

  1. Open Files and go to the folder where you want to add the material.

  2. Drag the files or folder from your computer onto the Files page.

Zeno adds the items to the folder that is currently open.

Wait for Files to Become Ready

Files may show Uploading, Processing, or Analysing while Zeno works on a file. The upload status shows Ready when processing finishes.

The upload status reports files that are ready, skipped, failed, or need attention. Read the reason shown for any item that does not become ready. Zeno must finish processing a file before it can use the file's content for search or comparison.

Organize and Find Your Files

  • To create a folder, select New, then New folder. Enter a name in the Folder name field, then select Create.

  • To find an item, use the search field.

  • Use the view controls to switch between a list and a grid.

If New Is Unavailable

Your access to the Project may be read-only. In that case, you can open and download existing files, but you cannot upload or change them.

If New is missing, ask the person who manages access to that Project.
