How to Create and Edit a Response Style

Create a custom response style and update its name or instructions in Response settings.

Written by Eloy Wijlhuizen

A Response Style stores instructions about how Zeno should present its answers, such as tone, structure, or level of detail. You manage saved styles in Customise and apply one to a conversation when needed.

Create a Response Style

  1. Open Customise and select Add new → Create response style.

Empty Create response style dialog with Style name, Instructions and Save controls.
  2. Enter a Style name of up to 20 characters.

  3. Add your preferences in Instructions. For example: “Use short paragraphs. Start with the requested result and finish with any open questions.”

  4. Select Save and check the style under Answer styles → Yours.

Keep the instructions about presentation clear and consistent. A style does not replace the task request or establish that the answer is correct.

Preview or Edit a Style

Open the style under Answer styles → Yours to preview it. Use a request that makes it easy to check the tone and format you want.

To change your own style, open its actions menu, select Edit response style, update the name or instructions, and select Save. Some built-in styles do not offer the same edit actions as your own styles.

Select a Style for a Conversation

, open Answer style, and choose the style under Response styles. Check the selection before sending your request. The style applies to that conversation.

If a Style Does Not Save or Load

Check the name and instructions, and keep a copy of text you do not want to lose. If loading fails and Try again is offered, use it to reload the list. After a save error, check whether the style is already present before creating another copy.
