A Project keeps related work together. You can create a shared Project for a client, matter, project, or topic. You can then move between that Project and your personal Project from the Project menu in the top-left corner.
What is a Project?
Your personal Project is your own working area. A shared Project gives invited colleagues a place to work with the same Project content.
You can organize shared Projects in the way that fits your work. For example, you can create one for each client, matter, project, or topic.
Content follows the Project where it is stored. Content in your personal Project is available only to you. Members of a shared Project can access the chats, files, folders, and documents stored there. Their Project role determines which management actions they can perform.
How to Create a Project
Select your current Project name, such as My project
, in the top-left corner.Select New project
.Enter a clear name for the Project.
Confirm that you want to create the Project.
Zeno opens the new Project. You can add members after you create it.
How to Add Members
Open the shared Project to which you want to add a colleague.
Select the more options button
beside the Project name in the top-left corner.Select Project settings.
Select Members.
Select Add members.
Use Search members… to find the colleague.
Select the colleague to add them to the Project.
You cannot add members to your personal Project. The member controls appear only when your Project permissions allow you to manage members.
If a colleague does not appear in the search results, ask an Organisation administrator to check that the colleague has a Zeno account in your Organisation. Inviting someone to your Organisation and adding an existing Organisation member to a Project are separate actions.
Adding someone to a shared Project does not give them access to content in your personal Project or to another shared Project. It also does not give every member the same management permissions.
Check Your Project Role
Select the more options
button beside the Project name, select Project settings, then select Members to check the role shown beside your name. Project roles determine which management actions are available; membership does not mean that everyone has the same permissions.
The Project owner is responsible for transferring ownership before leaving. If you need a management action that is not available to you, ask the Project owner to check your role.
Before You Leave a Project
Open the shared Project you intend to leave.
Select the more options
button beside the Project name in the top-left corner.Select Project settings.
Select Danger zone and find the option to leave the Project.
If you are the Owner, Zeno shows Transfer ownership before you can leave. Resolve ownership before continuing. Do not delete the Project to leave it: that is a different action affecting the Project and its contents.
Project membership and Organisation membership are separate. This is the Project control, not a way to leave your Organisation.
How to Switch Between Projects
Select the name of your current Project in the top-left corner.
Select the Project that you want to open.
To return to your personal working area, select your personal Project.
How to Keep Your Work Organized
Before you upload a file or start a task, check that you are in the correct Project.
Give each shared Project a clear name that your colleagues will recognize.
Keep related work in the same Project.
