How to Use Rulebook Presets in Zeno Work

Save and reuse personal, organisation, and Zeno-curated Rulebook presets.

Written by Eloy Wijlhuizen

A Rulebook preset is a reusable set of Checks and their requirements. Use a preset when you want to apply the same review criteria without rebuilding the Rulebook each time.

A preset contains the Rulebook structure. It does not contain a reviewed document or earlier results.

Choose a Preset Type

Zeno Work groups Rulebook presets into three tabs:

  • My presets: Presets that are visible only to you.

  • Organisation: Available to people in your organisation. Only organisation admins and owners can make a preset available to the organisation.

  • By Zeno: Ready-made presets provided by Zeno.

Choose the narrowest visibility that meets your needs. Use a personal preset for your own review criteria and an organisation preset for criteria that colleagues should reuse.

Save a Rulebook as a Preset

  1. Open Presets.

  2. Select My presets or Organisation.

  3. Open the Rulebook you want to reuse.

  4. Choose the option to save the Rulebook as a preset.

  5. Add a clear title and description.

  6. Review the Checks and their requirements.

  7. Choose whether the preset should be personal or available to your organisation. The organisation option is available only to admins and owners.

  8. Save the preset.

The preset is now available when you create another Rulebook.

  4. Review the Checks and requirements before saving the Rulebook.

  5. Add, remove, reorder, or rewrite Checks when the new review needs different criteria.

  6. Save the Rulebook.

To use the Rulebook, start a Rulebook check from the message box and choose the document you want to review.

Keep Shared Presets Clear

If you are an organisation admin or owner, use a specific title and description when sharing a preset. Explain what the preset checks, which documents it is intended for, and when colleagues should use a different review.

Review shared presets when your organisation's policies or review criteria change. A preset makes criteria repeatable, but it does not replace checking whether those criteria are current and suitable for the document.
