How to Mention Project Files in a Chat

Written by Eloy Wijlhuizen

Mention a file from Files in your message when you want Zeno to use it for a question or task.

Why Mention a File?

Mentioning a file tells Zeno which document you want it to use. You can select a file already in your Workspace while writing your message, without uploading it again or copying its contents into the chat. The file tag lets you check which document you selected before sending your request.

How to Mention a File

  1. Open the Project that contains the file.

  2. Open an existing chat or start a new one.

  3. Type @ in the message box.

  4. In Files, select the file that you want to use.

  5. Check that the file appears as a tag in the message box.

  6. Finish your message and explain how Zeno should use the file.

  7. Select Send message.

If Files shows No files available, add the file to Files, wait for it to finish processing, then type @ again.

Alternative: Attach a File

You can also choose a file through the attachment menu:

  1. Select Add to prompt (the plus button).

  2. Select Attach a file.

  3. In Attach files, use Search files or browse folders to find the file.

  4. Select the file.

  5. Select Add 1 file. If you selected more than one file, select the button that shows the corresponding number of files.

  6. Check that the file name appears in the message box.

  7. Write your message and explain how Zeno should use the attached file.

  8. Select Send message.

How to Write a Clear Request

Tell Zeno what result you need. Add details about the length, structure, or audience when they matter.

For example:

  • “Summarise this document in five bullet points.”

  • “List the dates in chronological order.”

  • “Draft a short email that explains the main points.”

Important Points to Note

  • You can attach more than one file through Attach files.

  • If you selected the wrong attachment, remove its chip before sending the message.
