To move a chat, file, or folder between Projects, you need both of these roles. This includes moving content between your personal Project, called My project, and a shared Project that other people in your organisation can join:
Admin or Owner in the source Project.
Editor, Admin, or Owner in the destination Project.
Ask a Project Owner or Admin to move the item or update your role if needed. Move chats and their referenced files to the same destination; moving a chat does not move its files.
Move a Chat
Open the Project that contains the chat.
Find the chat under Tasks in the sidebar.
Open the three-dot actions button beside the chat.
Open Move to.
Check the destination, then select the Project. Selecting it starts the move.
Open the destination Project and check that you can find the chat.
Move the original files that the chat references to the same destination. Copy to creates different files and does not reconnect the chat's existing citations to those copies.
Move a File or Folder
Open Files in the Project that contains the item.
Right-click the file or folder and select Move to.
In Choose destination, select the destination Project.
Open the destination folder, or choose the Project's top level.
Select Move here.
Open the destination and check that you can find the item.
Check the contents after moving a folder. If you cannot select a destination, ask the person who manages Project access to check your permissions in both Projects.
If a Move Fails
Check the source and destination before trying the move again. If the problem continues, contact Support with the action you tried and the error message. Leave chat and document contents out of the initial report.
To download a conversation, follow Export a Chat. For upload-capacity questions, see Supported File Types and Upload Limits.
