Zeno Work keeps the core ways you organise work, use documents, ask questions, research the law, and review results. The main difference is that these capabilities now work together in one task-based conversation.
This guide describes the standard Zeno Work experience.
The Main Change
In Zeno, you chose a mode or opened a separate tool before starting some types of work. In Zeno Work, you describe the outcome you need in the message box and add the relevant files or sources. Zeno then uses the capabilities needed for the task.
For work with several connected steps, Zeno can show a plan and its progress and prepare a document in the same conversation. See What is Zeno Work? for an introduction to this way of working.
What Stays, and What Changed
Private and shared Workspaces remain. Your private Workspace is called My workspace. Shared Workspaces use the roles Owner, Admin, Editor, and Viewer. Keep related conversations, Files, documents, and Rulebooks in the same Workspace.
Your Library is now called Files, where you can still upload files and folders, organise them, and open them for review. To use an existing Workspace file in a task, type @ in the message box or select Add to prompt (+), then Attach a file.
Chat and Legal Research are now part of the same conversation, with citations available for reviewing the result. Zeno decides whether to use Legal Research based on the task, so you no longer need to choose between Assistant and Research modes before sending a request.
Your prompts and personalisation settings now live under Customise. Personal prompts, organisation prompts, Zeno prompts, response styles, and writing profiles remain, with relevant items also available from Add to prompt.
Rulebooks still let you create reusable checks and run them against a document. In Zeno Work, you manage Rulebooks under Customise and start a check from the message box. Zeno presents the results in the conversation. Rulebooks are not available from the Zeno Word Add-In.
You can follow task progress, stop a response, and continue with follow-up instructions. Zeno plans the work as part of carrying out your request and can show an execution plan for tasks with several connected steps. You can steer a task with further instructions and queue a message while Zeno is working.
You can also edit and resend a question, and approve, adjust, or skip an action before Zeno changes your work.
The Zeno Word Add-In still lets you ask about selected text or the whole document, review suggested edits, and apply changes with tracked changes, as comments, or directly. Zeno Work uses one message box instead of separate Ask and Draft modes. It also adds Dismiss all and lets you attach files to the conversation.
What Is Not Part of the Standard Zeno Work Experience
The following capabilities are not part of the standard Zeno Work experience:
Tables as a standard capability.
The Epona integration.
Rulebooks in the Zeno Word Add-In.
What Is New in Zeno Work
Zeno Work adds new ways to manage work and documents:
Type
@to select a Workspace file without leaving the message box.Save, name, and restore file versions, or open a file with Edit with Agent.
Manage prompts, response styles, writing profiles, and Rulebooks together under Customise.
Transfer ownership of a Workspace. Shared Workspace members continue to use the roles Owner, Admin, Editor, and Viewer.
Queue guidance while a task is running, edit and resend a question, and review actions that would change your work.
Create or update Word documents in Document Studio, review tracked changes, and return to earlier versions.
Use organisation Word templates and create more than one Word document from one task when the task requires it.
Attach files or dismiss all suggestions in the Zeno Word Add-In.
How to Complete Familiar Tasks
To ask a general question or conduct legal research, start one conversation and describe the result you need. Add relevant files and state the relevant jurisdiction when it matters.
To use a document from the Library, open Files, type
@in the message box, or select Add to prompt (+), then Attach a file.To manage prompts, response styles, writing profiles, or Rulebooks, open Customise.
To review a complex task, follow the plan and progress shown in the conversation.
To summarise a matter, ask Zeno in a conversation and identify the relevant Workspace files.
To collaborate, use a shared Workspace.
To compare information across several documents, describe the comparison you need in a conversation and specify how Zeno should organise the result.
